Service manual here: http://www.vinylengine.com/library/t.../sl-1200.shtml

I think this is the part number: EVHB8A253B13

Not sure about an alternative.

Are there any values on the current POT that is in there?

I had a couple of non working SL1200 in my storage unit, i'll see if they are still there maybe i could send you the pitch faders if they haven't already been stolen!

What exactly is wrong with your pitch control on yours? I have a couple of SL-1100A that have a similar pitch control and every 10years or so they start acting erratic. I spray some Deoxit down the shaft and they start working correctly again, so you might try that. I don't believe the pitch controls are available any more, at least not from Technics. I also don't think that the pitch controls from the 1100s fit the old 1200s. This subject came up once on the audiokarma turntable forum. A guy was trying to replace the pitch control on his 1100 with a 1200 pitch control, but it wasn't the same. You might want to go over there and ask him if he still has the 1200 pitch control.

I think what he ended up doing was putting the good pitch control he had left and wired it to the 33 rpm side and just used his turntable with Serato since you only use it at 33 rpm.

I checked our storage and there is only one SL1200 in there in a box and the pitch doesn't seem to be there, Sorry!:(

Panotaker's idea of useing some Deoxit is probably worth a try you would be suprised what you can bring back to life!

Pot's can easily be copied by a number of places, though it's not cheap.

DJDP 05-17-2011 02:15 PM

the pitch seems tight to the touch - its acting erratic - going to buy a can Deoxit and try it out - will follow up with the results in the next couple of days. Thank you again to all

That is exactly what mine was doing. Deoxit should fix it. I used Deoxit D5.
