pds 5000 program eq for sale

Im sellin a PDS 5000 program eq for $ 600.00 as is, this unit orig sold for 2500.00.

it will not play audio when engaged if you use it in bypass mode it will play. I am sellin it as is, a local repair shop or a do it yourself tech can easily fix the issue, i wld do it myself but i do not have the time or desire to do the repair.

do you know exactly what the issue is?

as it may have a bearing on repair estimates.

The issue was that two capacitors and one resistor were bad. It cost me $1.50 to replace them all. Based on the position of these items in the signal path, it looks like the unit fell victim to a power surge.

I may spend another $11.00 on a replacement transformer for the unit, as it's working fine but it could stand to be swapped.

I bought replacements for the zapped resistors and capacitor at EPO in Houston. They were about .50 apiece.

Here is the transformer:

I hadn't had the chance to actually hear the unit through speakers until today, at a gig. (I repaired it using a headphone.) Looking at the components, I couldn't figure out where the money went.

Now that I've used it and actually gotten to hear it, I see why it cost $2500 new. The designer was a genius.
