bozak ar6

just wondering anyone's opinion if this mixer is worth the money and sound quality will be improved or just stick with a rane mp2016s. music will be 320k mp3 and wav on serato sl3, and all highend pro audio speakers, amps and processing thanks in advance joey

Stick with the Rane or get a ARS 4100.

i was looking at the ars 4100 but how much of an improvement will it be over a rane? do you have direct experience with the ar6?

The difference with good .wav files will be there, if you could hear it is another thing. The Rane is a good sounding mixer but the ARS is better.
But the SL3 (like the NI soundcards) are the greater problem.
One of the reasons why I try to get used to mix with a controller, is that I could use any good soundcard.

The new Audio10 for Traktor will run at above CD audio fidelity. I find it to sound phenomenal. I just did a mix on my Urei with the Audio10 direct in if you'd like to check out the fidelity. The mix was recorded in Protools and then uploaded as a 320kbps mp3 to podomatic. The new SL4 is supposedly really good fidelity wise. Honestly imo I have to say it's all about file quality these days. It means everything...

Laurin I agree its not a high-end D/A converter, but there are many other limiting factors in fidelity before you hit the "D/A bottle" these days. Between how tracks are produced, the mastering, the bitrate conversion, etc. The reality is if you're playing music that's not 20-30 years old for modern clubbers, it's not produced (for the most part) like it was back then. Home is a different story, you win there, but I will say the Audio 10 sounds phenomenal on a great system, at least on par with cd's with good files from my experience.

I've taken a few tracks right out of my production, still 24-bit / 96 kHz as I produced them, direct wav to my laptop and played them on one of my hifi club systems on the Audio 10 and it sounds pretty damn good for a $600 10-channel D/A / interface box...

it certainly does worth it's money - i am a happy user but since you already have a rane there is no point on getting anything else.

(unless you got bored of your rane ofcourse)

No, he doesn't have direct experience with it, but all the villagers are mad because someone dared use the Bozak name so they've all agreed to hate it based on assumptions. It's just the internet echo chamber of misinformation as usual.

Sorry, but that's almost all of what goes on here.

Had a short demo of the unit in the UK and at WMC.
Good unit same level as the Rane imho High End.
But the ARS is better.

And: do we know us???

I give a shit if the name is Bozak or Urei or "The mixer Lawrence Philpot used at 84 King Street" a good unit is a good unit and a bad is a bad.
And if you dont like it here, what are you doin here on board?
Trolling?

4100 dolphins are killed to make the ARS, it's where it gets it's name from.. I have two with tiger skin sides, now that is effective troll tactics

2016S with EQ is a phenomenal mixer in any application.

Built quality, phono preAmp and at WMC A/B to a Rane Empath.
Urei 1620 LE, Rane MP 2016 and the new Bozak are imho the same level.

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster here, so Hi everybody.

I run my music trough a really shitty mixer, so I been wanting to do a serious upgrade for some time.
I live in norway and have no tech skills so trying to buy an original bozak that might or might not need work seems a bit difficult.

so beyond all the dolphines and the branding issues, is this the the right choice to make?
oh, and I play vinyl, mostly disco and the ocational house records.

I would buy the ARS 4100, the build in phono pre amps are the best I have ever heard in a mixer.

Rane MP, the new Bozak and the Urei LE are on the same level.

Hi Magmat

Welcome. I buyed a e&s djr400 a couple of month ago and i never would go back. Definitly the mixer to go for home use and as portable tool.

Before i had a vestax pmc 46, rane 2016 mp/xp and an
Original urei 1620. I loved my urei but for home use to laborious to install.
