bozak ar6

just wondering anyone's opinion if this mixer is worth the money and sound quality will be improved or just stick with a rane mp2016s. music will be 320k mp3 and wav on serato sl3, and all highend pro audio speakers, amps and processing thanks in advance joey

Stick with the Rane or get a ARS 4100.

i was looking at the ars 4100 but how much of an improvement will it be over a rane? do you have direct experience with the ar6?

The difference with good .wav files will be there, if you could hear it is another thing. The Rane is a good sounding mixer but the ARS is better.
But the SL3 (like the NI soundcards) are the greater problem.
One of the reasons why I try to get used to mix with a controller, is that I could use any good soundcard.

The new Audio10 for Traktor will run at above CD audio fidelity. I find it to sound phenomenal. I just did a mix on my Urei with the Audio10 direct in if you'd like to check out the fidelity. The mix was recorded in Protools and then uploaded as a 320kbps mp3 to podomatic. The new SL4 is supposedly really good fidelity wise. Honestly imo I have to say it's all about file quality these days. It means everything...

it certainly does worth it's money - i am a happy user but since you already have a rane there is no point on getting anything else.

(unless you got bored of your rane ofcourse)

Laurin I agree its not a high-end D/A converter, but there are many other limiting factors in fidelity before you hit the "D/A bottle" these days. Between how tracks are produced, the mastering, the bitrate conversion, etc. The reality is if you're playing music that's not 20-30 years old for modern clubbers, it's not produced (for the most part) like it was back then. Home is a different story, you win there, but I will say the Audio 10 sounds phenomenal on a great system, at least on par with cd's with good files from my experience.

I've taken a few tracks right out of my production, still 24-bit / 96 kHz as I produced them, direct wav to my laptop and played them on one of my hifi club systems on the Audio 10 and it sounds pretty damn good for a $600 10-channel D/A / interface box...

No, he doesn't have direct experience with it, but all the villagers are mad because someone dared use the Bozak name so they've all agreed to hate it based on assumptions. It's just the internet echo chamber of misinformation as usual.

Sorry, but that's almost all of what goes on here.

Had a short demo of the unit in the UK and at WMC.
Good unit same level as the Rane imho High End.
But the ARS is better.

And: do we know us???

I give a shit if the name is Bozak or Urei or "The mixer Lawrence Philpot used at 84 King Street" a good unit is a good unit and a bad is a bad.
And if you dont like it here, what are you doin here on board?
Trolling?

4100 dolphins are killed to make the ARS, it's where it gets it's name from.. I have two with tiger skin sides, now that is effective troll tactics

2016S with EQ is a phenomenal mixer in any application.

Built quality, phono preAmp and at WMC A/B to a Rane Empath.
Urei 1620 LE, Rane MP 2016 and the new Bozak are imho the same level.

so you think the 2016s is not any better than the new bozak meaning it would be a sideways move to buy that unit?
on a side note if any dolphins were being killed to make either mixer i wouldnt buy any.
even to joke around killing an intelligent animal is not funny.
watch the movie called The Cove maybe the joke wont be a joke anymore

What are people looking for in a mixer? if it's neutral sound, functionality and build quality.. there are a number of mixers out there that are on the same level. Rane 2016S isnt a cheap mixer at any rate. I truly believe money can be better spent than replacing a 2016S.

rescue I understand your point. but..
all animals are intelligent to some degree.
is it okay to eat cows, but you draw the line at dolphins
remember, when it comes to meat, it ain't pretty,
and if you leave a serious social comment in your tag line..
well prepare yourself for some bad jokes.

i was just wondering since i hear so many people praise the bozak original and the urei original .
on a side note cows are prey animals as all animals with eyes on the side of their head and nature has made death easy for them. ever see on tv a wildebeast get eaten by a lion, as they get eaten they just sit there b/c they go into shock easily and euphoria kicks in( all herbivores )whereas animals with eyes facing forward (meat / omnivores ) and sea mammels dont go into shock and try to stay alive till the end ( a with little but regular access to food has on average a longer lifespan than a person who has plentiful food and exercise) shock doesnt happen until mostly all the blood is lost.
i only eat humane meat from a local farmer so the animal is treated with respect then pow lights out no slaughter house slicing neck factory farm.
not to turn this into PETA i guess the ar6 is a sideways and expensive move i already have a pretty good pa and drive and try to get wav/mp3-320 just want to get the best i can. i enjoy listening to music and its my drug and outlet from a stressing day from work and wify, the latter is wow verrrry stressful
btw 20,000 cows were killed for my dinner since i was borne

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster here, so Hi everybody.

I run my music trough a really shitty mixer, so I been wanting to do a serious upgrade for some time.
I live in norway and have no tech skills so trying to buy an original bozak that might or might not need work seems a bit difficult.

so beyond all the dolphines and the branding issues, is this the the right choice to make?
oh, and I play vinyl, mostly disco and the ocational house records.
