does anybody know this DJ?

Friends,

I did a gig about a year ago and one of the DJ's was this big brother, heavy man came with a stack of wax, no sleeves and mixed them all up doing about 30 seconds from each. Was a really cool set, it was at a fancy wedding reception I did. Guy was great and now I have a client that really wants to hire him. Anybody know this guy?

Thanks,
Paul Bell

Or Jeff Mills, although he's not that big. I know Carl Cox has done a few celebrity Birthday Parties, but it sounds kinda strange to one of these guys doing a wedding party. It could also be somebody aiming at winning the next DMC Championship.

There are actually quite a few dj's that play their records like mad men, changing them every 30 seconds. My guess is he was using no sleeves to make the changes even quicker. Taking the records out of the sleeves would have slowed him down about three seconds for every record change

To track this guy down there's probably a need to know what kind of music he played as well.

Good luck

/Daniel

Stranger things than this have happened! And IF someone was willing to spend the money it takes to have one of these guys play a wedding, why wouldnt they? If someone offered you 25 grand or whatever, you wouldnt play a wedding?

HELL NO...

Just kidding. I most definitely would. Like I said, I know Carl Cox has done a few celebrity parties and I guess celebrities sometimes don't care about what is being played, just as long as there's a big name spinning. Oh and btw, Carl Cox, like many of us, actually started out as a mobile DJ playing cheesy stuff in "uncool" places.

could also be DJ assault

but he's not too big either -- he also tends to spin quite explicit/at least borderline ghetto tek house stuff -- about :30 of each record also -- methinks he's based in detroit
