urei 1620 effects sends + returns

hi
how many out there use your effect send+return on your ureis...and what do you use them for??? they are pre tone and gain stages so the signal is still very pure / raw.... same as the tape outs. years ago i soldered a jumper across the send/return jacks onside because i hated those little rca wires on the back. it seems like a strange place in the signal chain to put a compressor or a eq because so much can happen to the signal afterwards....but then again all the outputs would have the same processeed signal(except the tape outs). i use the booth outs for my mains and after it leaves the urei i go thru an electrix filter factory and 2 old school dbx 163 "more---->" compressors. im thinking about putting the filter in the effects send/return. if i like the sound im gonna take out those pathetic rca jacks and pop in 2 male xlrs in the unused mic holes. pin 2 will be send and pin 3 will be return (pin 1 grnd). and then just solder together some custom cables.....and blam... slick new send+returns....hahaha....tchau from sunny são paulo...bret

i run all kinds of stuff through that loop, sometimes...

It is usually used for an isolator.

I've been looking for a solution for a while and decided a couple years ago for the E&S EFX 3004.

It combines and isolator & an EFX Send/Return. Both can be bypassed.
The EFX Send/Return is connected to my EFX Unit (Korg DL8000R Delay rack)

NB: the unit i use is one of the first prototypes Jerome build for the Zouk club so the faceplate is a bit different from the one he sells now.

My DCR-1200

LE and Vestax seem like an unholy companion but for me and my audience it does the job.

I use an original Urei 1620 (but it has a custom silver faceplate) refurbished by Mario G. I'm willing to try the Alpha, but they don't reply my emails
