I think you may be having problems as vinyl is well past its peak interest with the average hi fi fan. Go back in time seventies and I'm sure many more of your asociates would have examples of good gear! Nowadays the modern DJ experience of record playback can miss out on the 'goodness' in the grooves.
I'm guessing that there is no publication for Hi Fi in Israel? What about local audio clubs? They are likely to be older people.
Also many good people invloved in pro sound and the repair of may actual have some nice HiFi setups, they are unlikely to brag about them though. Once you can repair and build audio products professionaly you are likely to sort out the good and bad for yourself.
Perhaps used gear being sold by enthusisasts may give you some more references to what you like. Check the classified ads in your area.
Incidentaly there are no sources of hi fi for purchase in my locality either but audio is partly my job so I get to hear a lot of products.
Would be logical to audition the whole Rega against SL1200 itself with the same cart and award the winner.
