No, it is not an RLA install, far from it. None of his speaker cabinets are RLA designs and I dont believe any of his currently installed processing is RLA.

Doesn't the ElDorado itself actually pre-date RLA's time as an installer?

I dunno really!

The J-Horn's should be RLA.

Your right, forgot about those, my bad. It's NOT an RLA system though.

Yeah that's true.

Inspired by RLA would be, IMHO, the term to describe the system.

BTW
never heard a J-Horn. How do they sound compared to a emerald?

If you're ever in NYC, check out Club Love, and you can hear both (albeit at the same time).

Club love still sounds amazing even without the J-horns ,if your in nyc you should go ,and some of the stuff Scott uses was RLA he had bozaks and ureis and RLA crossovers ureis 525 crossovers and the J-horns from Zanzibars made by Disco chuck from newark, he built all the cabinets that Richard installed in Jersey including Zanzibar .Scott like many imitated Richard they all did including Steve Dash and Gary Steward and Shorty .but so did Richard most of his famous cabinets were copy's of existing models ,and not to high jack this thread Kev you build some good consoles ,was it you who built Lenny Fontana consoles ?

Thanks for posting the GREAT video Dino! Doc is THE man, always has been and probably always will be my favorite dj. Going to see him play here next Friday

Two unusual things in this video though : 1. Its looks like Doc is playing all CD's at this gig which is strange because every time I have seen him recently up to a couple months ago he was still mainly playing vinyl with just a few CD's here and there. And 2. he's always had a preference for rotaries, usually the rane but it looks like he must have specifically requested a .... gasp ....Pio 800 for this gig rather than play on the Urie. Eeek!! I saw in a couple videos from his last Sublevel party in LA he had removed the rane rotary from his console and there was an 800 in its place.... it looks an ugly patern is developing lol. Doc.... don't do it!!!! LOL

A friend just sent me some beautiful videos that were shot at one of our last parties.

That's me in the first one, not exactly getting my arrangement right in the mix into "Cowboys and Gangsters" After that it's Wave forum member "child of 1983" playing something on Prelude it looks like, and then me again doing another abrupt mix from Cerrone to Lenny Williams. Sigh

Mixing aside, the videos look really nice: lotsa flashing lights and dancing people.

The second video is our friend's band Saturn doing a cover of "Thousand Finger Man" in the basement, and in the third video it's our friends Love Dancing finishing the party off in style.

Awesome party

Limetwig,

Those are awesome videos. Man, why do you have to be all the way up in Canada? I would love to go to your parties (if invited of course). I have not seen a scene like that in a while. Congrats on the parties man. Awesome stuff.

Don't know. It's pretty much entirely based on samples from Chicago's classic "Street Player" though. I expect it's an edit.
