mixer

I can't afford much of anything these days, so I thought I'd post this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3032606456

I remember Shorty or Scott mentioning the Showco mixer before. I like the layout. Although its not rotary, the simplicity can't be beat.

Never got one. I ended up settling on the Sound Workshop and I've been slowly tricking it out. It looks like a cool mixer. Obscure DJ mixers are always fun. Thing is when buying one is understanding why they became obscure and didn't really catch.

I think this one was too basic...

no loop; no xfader; only two TT, one line configuration available

but not having actually touched the unit......

wonder what the original price was? Showco wasn't smalltime.... i don't think....

I'll see how it sounds in a few weeks & report back...

replaced a schadow DPDT switch that was broken, with the mic ducker active of course....

and cleaned a bunch of what must have been "bar gunk" out of the unit....

I like it, kinda fun....

sounds good though the bookshelf system, will test it through the main system later this week, hopefully....

will post some photos as well....

easier to get into clipping than a UREI or Bozak.....

just hooked it up to my main system, I don't think clipping the mixer will be a problem when used in a system with decent headroom....

I got no movement on the meters at a comfortable listening level....

(I got it to clip last night running the mixer pretty hot through a small bookshelf system -- to see how easy it would be, and not risk damaging the main system)

Bass is very, very full with the EQ set flat...

all in all, a very good sounding mixer IMO...
