EAW FDN-3512 Crossover

Among the unusual things I've come across while accumulating gear have been a pair of these original EAW crossovers. They were mounted inside custom cabinets built for JBL 2425J, 16 ohm compression drivers attached to JBL 2370 horns. The owner said that these cabinets served as the top half of a 2-way system that had once been accompanied by some JBL bottoms.

The EAW crossover is model FDN-3512 (Frequency distribution network) and says it is crossed over at 1200Hz, 8 ohms. They are labeled as consecutive serial numbers 3542 and 3543.

Does anyone know anything about these? Obviously EAW was on top of its game back when these would have been made, so I am curious as to the quality and value of these crossovers. I've never seen one before, so I'll defer to the gurus on here for guidance.

Pics are attached...

believe it or not there are still some old school guys that were around during the time those were made, currently working at the factory in Mass. Email parts@eaw.com and attach the pic they will be able to help you out.

Yep, good call on that email address! Here' what they wrote back with -- nothing super specific but at least it confirms what I already knew.

That is a generic 2 way crossover from probably 1981. There should be a date on the bottom. EAW used to sell crossovers back then for people who wanted to build their own cabinets, it was not made for a specific EAW cabinet. Crossover point between the LF & HF is 1.2K
