I assume you are talking about Moutso and Glow, right? Spending a lot of time there was what convinced me to get a 2016.

What a bizarre discussion this was. If your signals are turning into square waves, by definition you've clipped the mixer. At which point a mixer clips is mostly arbitrary, and yes it's based on, in part, the voltage rails. The fidelity of a mixer, including its bass response, though, is not predicated on its maximum output nor at which point it clips. Past its engineering choices that govern fidelity (and they're mostly not the voltage rails), it comes down to abiding by whatever level limitations there are on that design. Any active design can eventually be overloaded. You just hope the metering on it is accurately going to tell you when you're close to that happening. The rest is user knowhow and error. A lot of bullshit in this discussion.
