I'm very sad and was totally shocked to hear this even though I didn't know him personally.

Farewell Scott, rest in peace.

This is such utterly crap news. Scott was the first guy to pitch in his wisdom when a new guy asked a question. His reputation will grow in the forthcoming years as people search the archives and see this. He was extremely generous with his time and always willing to help.

Disagreeing with Scott was all part of the experience :-) It'd be a boring world if we all agreed on everything. I can think of numerous times when we'd be at loggerheads, eventually adopting each other's point of view into a new hybrid. I had some of the best debates I've ever had on the Internet with Scott...

I didn't get to meet him in person (procrastination on my behalf), but used to exchange PMs with him when I found something too incendiary to post in the forum myself :-) He always replied, usually letting me know it was something he was already aware of :-)

Not only has the forum lost, quite probably, its most generous contributor, but a real link with audio history has left us

My thoughts go out to his family at this time.

Never met the man, but he was kind enough to provide advice when I bought a Bozak last year. I have tremendous respect for what he was doing to keep Coney Island alive and well, not to mention the disco spirit. I wish his family and friends the best.

I would be up for a Wave Music day trip to the bumper cars next summer, honor the man, maybe donate something to the business/family and of course bump our asses off.

Scotty's post were the very epitome of all the legendary audio equipment and sound systems that he and we so all revere. Exuberant, authoritative and always leaving you wanting for more.

A great audio historian, a great debater and a great moderator.

But most of all a great loss.

Thank you

I can never express the amount of gratitude I have for all the help you gave me when I was building my system. Thank you for all the knowledge you shared with me, the inspiration you gave me to take it to the next level and for being my and everyones older brother in audio.

Friends,

Iíve just returned home from the services. There were many in attendance, many more than the family imagined. The Chapel was almost full. While I have never been formally introduced to his family as others here have, I was able to meet and express my thoughts to his father. I did recognize the folks who run Eldorado. If anybody from Wave was there, I did not recognize them. The family expressed surprise at the number of folks that showed up as well as emails and various board postings from around the world.

It was a wonderful service, it was a celebration of Scottís life and accomplishments. It touched on his love of food and his abilities as a chef. His knowledge and love of all things Coney Island were lauded. Much was said about his love and knowledge of music, his being a DJ and his passion and experience for sound systems.

As it turns out, Scott himself was a celebrity. We are lucky to have known him and his wisdom will live on preserved across the internet.
