Replacement Foam for JBL 2441 Drivers

Greetings all and welcome back,

The foam under the caps of my JBL 2441 drivers has deteriorated from age and need to be replaced. I know JBL no longer makes replacement ones. Can anyone suggest what I should use and where I can purchase them?

Peace.

I had to do this as well on my 2421 drivers. I had used some felt from McMaster Carr as suggested on lansing heritage. Do a search over there and you'll find out some more info.

One important thing to note is not to use a water based glue. A member on that board had done so and the result was mold. I used hot glue to avoid that problem.

Sometimes electronic components such as circuit boards are shipped in foam lines boxes. That's the foam that matches the original stuff.

A dab of Krazy Glue should be all it needs to stay put.

Yes. Yes they do. Even rubber things you didn't know existed. Nice people over there too!
